Inspiration is a hard thing to come by at times. It’s hard to force yourself to do something when there is no want there. Whenthere’s nothing for you to build off of. When there is no one there to workwith. But that’s the thing. In this case, there is someone to work with. Butnot in the way that would make things easy.

For Psyche Devyne, a lot of her inspiration comesfrom other people. From interacting. From having someone to build off of. Sincecoming to BCW, she hasn’t had a chance to meet someone that could do that forher. Most of the people she has interacted with hate her. One for good reason.Psyche did kind of ruin her chance to win. But that wasn’t her fault. Otherthan that, most people wanted nothing to do with her. She was used to that, forsure, but it hadn’t been like this in a long time. Not since the alienationforced upon her in her schooling years. It was as if she was in year 7 all overagain. Friends deserting her because she was different and didn’t like whatthey did. She would move from being alone to being a fighter. Getting intobrawls with girls because she was different. Because her idea of fun washanging out with the guys. This intimidated a lot of those girls and theythought she was stealing their boyfriends. She wasn’t until she was. She LIKEDfighting. She liked making the other girls angry. It gave her something to do.

Those girls gave her inspiration to become who shewas today. From them came her drive to become a wrestler. To become somethingin the world. And she was going to do just that. But how could she do it rightwithout good inspiration from another person? She had nobody to feed off of.Nobody to pull from. Because the gods know… Erron Wilder’s words gave nothingto anyone.

 ------------------------------------------------------

Earlierthat morning…

Psyche was sitting on her couch in her flat. Shehad a laptop sitting in front of her. A woman filled the screen. They werehaving a Skype conversation. Psyche had a smile across her face, clearly happyto be speaking to someone.

Psyche: “I miss you guys so much already. And Ihaven’t even been gone long. I wish I could have seen you on the weekend when Iwas back home…

Woman: “I know, sweetheart. We miss you here too.Your father is going to be there in a month’s time. So hopefully you can spendsome time together.

The woman was Psyche’s mother. Psyche nodded, happiness taking over.

Psyche: “Oh I can’t wait. Maybe he’ll be able tocome to the show. That would be fantastic.

Mrs. Devyne: “I’m sure he wouldn’t miss it for theworld. How is it there, anyway?

Psyche: “I do love it. I’ve been trying to see somany things. It’s very different from home, here. Making a life in this placecan be rather difficult.

Mrs. Devyne: “That’s understandable. Do you stilllike it as much as when you used to visit with your father?

Psyche: “Like I said… It’s very different.

She laughed a bit. Her mother was smiling, knowingher daughter was really missing home. But she would get over it soon.

Mrs. Devyne: “Any new men in your life? It’s been awhile since you were with someone. I’d love to see you settle down. We allthought that would happen with Stefan.

Psyche rolled her eyes. Of course her mother wouldbring him up.

Psyche: “Mother... Stefan was insane.  I would have never let myself settle downwith him. Not in a million years. But that’s beside the point. There’s someonehere that I’ve been chatting up, but I don’t know where that will go. So fornow, I’ll focus on my wrestling. That is the most important anyways.

Mrs. Devyne: “Of course, sweetheart. It is the mostimportant for sure. I just want you to be happy, is all.

Psyche: “I am happy, mum. I’m doing what I’vealways wanted. That’s enough for me right now.

Her mother smiled again.

Mrs. Devyne: “And what about your match this week? What is going on there?

Psyche: “I’m up against two men.

Her mother looked shocked.

Mrs. Devyne: “Two!? How could they put you upagainst two!

Psyche: “It’s not a big deal. I can take them. Allthat fighting in school will pay off.

Psyche laughed.

Mrs. Devyne: “We saved your arse many times duringthat time, Psyche.

Psyche faked a gasp.

Psyche: “Muh-maw! How dare you use the word ‘arse’!So unbecoming of you!

She laughed again.

Mrs. Devyne: “Psyche I’m serious. You could getvery hurt.

Psyche: “Honestly mum… you only saved me frommultiple expulsions and terminations. I was the one with the bloody knucklesfrom broken noses.

Mrs. Devyne: “So bad, Pea.

Psyche paused for a second. Her mother hadn’tcalled her Pea in a long time. She kind of missed it.

Psyche: “Don’t worry, mum. Honestly. I’ll be fine. You’ll have to come visit me soon and see a show.

Mrs. Devyne: “You know how I feel about planes. Andhow I feel about seeing you fight. I don’t want to see you hurt.

Psyche: “It’s all in good fun. I promise.

She smiled reassuringly at her mother.

Mrs. Devyne: "Well maybe after the match you could talk to one of those boys and get into a relationship with one."

Her mothers eyes lit up, excited about the idea.

Psyche: "Ugh. Please, mother. No thank you. And especially not after a match like that."

She had a disgusted face on, but laughed after.

Psyche: “But I should let you go. You have worktonight, right?

Mrs. Devyne: “Yes. The late shift is not great, butthey needed me. I have to leave soon, so yes, I should go.

Psyche: “Okay. I love you, mummy! I can’t wait tocome home for a visit and see you. Wish me luck, okay?

Mrs. Devyne: “I love you too, my little Pea. Becareful. And good luck.

Psyche nodded and blew her mother a kiss. Thescreen went black and then back to her regular desktop. She smiled to herself. Her conversations with her mother were so bittersweet. But it was what wouldhelp her get through this match. That’s for sure.

-------------------------------------------

Laterthat day…

We are now looking at a street. There’s some kindof festival going on wherever it was. People everywhere. Psyche was walkingthrough the crowd, taking in everything around her. A smile played across herface as she watched a group of kids running around to the right of her. Soinnocent. So much life in them. She looked over to the camera that was in frontof her, now speaking directly to it. People were taking notice, trying tofigure out who she was and why she was being filmed.

Psyche: “Ladies and gentlemen. It is I, PsycheDevyne. I am here today to speak to you about my opponents this week. Vance Morganand Erron Wilder. I’ve talked about them before, yes. I mean… this is what Ido. I have to talk about these twats in order to beat them. Isn’t that the waythis works? I always thought it had to do with how well you do in the ring… butI guess talking shit about each other is the way to go. So let’s do this onceagain, shall we?

She looks around again. People around are confusedstill, but generally not paying enough attention to her.

Psyche: “Once again… I have nothing to say aboutVance Morgan. He’s brought nothing to the table. I wouldn’t be surprised if hedoesn’t even show up. I wouldn’t either at this point, I guess. That would justbe sad."

She pauses for a second.

Psyche: “But Erron... I have lots of things to sayabout Erron.

She now looks a bit ticked off. Now she wasstarting to become annoyed by the man she would be facing this weekend.

Psyche: “To be honest… the words that came fromErron were absolutely useless. His words were a pile of shit on the floor thatfell from his open jaw. Useless. Everything he said was simply “Me, me, me, me,me. I’m going to win. You both suck. I’m scary.” Really, Erron? You’re so surethat you’ll win? So sure that myself and Vance are that terrible that you’llhave an advantage over us? I mean… Vance I could see. But I’m not one to justlet a man walk all over me. I’m not one to give you an easy fight. I won’t lieon my back and let you pin me. This will be a fight. And one of us will comeout as the winner. And love… I don’t think it’ll be you. You talk about beingthis man that people should fear and respect. You talk about how you’ll changeme after this match. That you’ll ruin me. No, love. Even if I were to lose, youwouldn’t ruin me. I’m not some blonde little twat that will just roll over andcry after a loss. I’ll take that loss and shove it down your throat. Prove toall of these people that I’m not easily taken down. I am a warrior. I am thegirl that men think they can take advantage of, just to find themselves ontheir back, pinned to the mat. You won’t win, Erron. Not in any way."

She looks around once again, and then back to thecamera. She still has that annoyed look on her face.

Psyche: “You try and come off as this scary manthat will break everything around him. But you’re not scary. Your words… arenot scary. As I said, the shit spewing from your mouth is just a crutch. A wayto hold yourself up because you’re not sure of yourself. You have to act toughand try to intimidate people just to convince yourself that you’re the best thereis. But I see all through that, love. I see through those words. You may havecome from a terrible life and look at me like a little princess. Like my lifewasn’t hard because all I had to deal with was a few bullies. But that’s nottrue. You can try and make yourself believe that you’re this hard shelled man. But you aren’t. Look at yourself. You are following a woman around like alost puppy. And that's even what she calls you. Her puppy. Does that make youfeel manly? Does she make you feel manly? Cause you don’t look it, love.

Psyche laughs quietly to herself.

Psyche: “You’re following around a woman whoalready has a man. Trying to get her to see you as more than her little puppy.I can see the desperation in you. Trying so hard to be the one that she wantsto be with. But that will never be you. She’s got someone else, and you justcan’t accept that. Do you think that makes you look scary? How do you expectpeople to take you seriously when you’re seen as Kat’s little dog? I wouldn’tbe surprised if the girl comes out to save her little puppy from my Psycho. Myadvice to you… cut out the kitten from your inner circle. Only then will Iactually take you seriously.

Another pause.

Psyche: “Speaking of Kat, actually… I have a fewwords for her as well. I’ve seen you talking about me. Saying you’ll be comingfor me. I was trying to see if we could let this go. I wasn’t the one whoturned the cameras onto me. I was just having some fun on my first night here. And you let that distract you. That’s a you problem. Not a me problem. Ithought this could just blow over, but I was clearly wrong. You just want tohold grudges against me because you can’t deal with the fact that you letyourself be pinned. I didn’t run out there and beat your ass so you’d lose. You lost concentration. That’s not my fault. But if you want to let that makeyou want to come after me, then so be it. If you want to fight me, then comeand get me, love. It won’t be easy. I’m not scared of a little kitty cat, muchlike I’m not scared of her little puppy. I’m sure I’ll see you soon, Kat.

She blew a kiss at the camera.

Psyche: “Oh... and just to reiterate… Erron WilderI can’t wait to see you in the ring. Honestly… don’t underestimate me. You’re abrute. I’m the female version of David and you’re Goliath. Remember whathappens in that story?

Psyche smiles sickly, staring into the camera.

Psyche: “David… kills… Goliath.

She whispers it. The smile stays on her face as shelooks around the street again. People are becoming more rowdy; getting moreexcited for whatever this festival was for. She looks right back into thecamera and winks. And the camera goes black.
