Rorie Steele

(!!!WARNING!!! - May Will contain whorish statements, sluttiness, sex, violence, bad language, and any other horrible things you can think of. BE ADVISED!)

-------OOC: This was written in collaboration with Devin Hawk. Just an FYI. Meant to be posted last night.

The night was young. 7:37pm the clock on the radio deck read as he stopped the car outside of her house. He killed the ignition and sat motionless for just a second. He reached out for the phone to send her a little text announcing his arrival...but, instead he stops. He smirks to himself...what could he do to annoy her even more with the whole thing? He reached for the door handle and pushed the door open before pushing himself out of the car. He stood up straight, the black suit he wore straightening with him. He wore a white shirt and black tie underneath the jacket. His hair was nicely slicked back into a ponytail and his beard was groomed perfectly. He chewed on the end of a toothpick currently, but would discard that after he closed the door. He slipped his hands into his pockets and walked around the car, then up the steps that lead to the front door of her house. He waited a moment before removing his right hand and knocking on the door.

Knock, knock.

Rorie took her sweet-ass time answering. As a woman, it was her duty to make a man wait. As Rorie, it was her duty to make a man wait longer. She finally opened the door, wearing a dress that she had worn before in one of her promos. A tight black dress with panels cut out of it, showing a lot of skin. She would have been wearing more clothing if she hadn’t worn the dress at all, to be honest. But so be it. On her feet were a pair of tall black heels and a small blue purse was tucked under her arm. The colour matched her eyes perfectly. She kept a straight face when she saw him. Even though he looked incredibly amazing, she wasn’t about to admit it to him. Nor would she let her face reveal her thoughts.

Rorie Steele: “You’re late.

She said simply, watching him from the door still. His eyes were locked on her. She was absolutely gorgeous...and he should have said that immediately, but was dumbfounded. Finally, after what felt like eternity for her, but was only a brief few seconds, he spoke up again.

Devin Hawk: “What do you mean, late? You said 7:30-ish. It’s 7:37.” He stopped himself, looking down for a moment. His eyes would eventually trail back up to her. “You look gorgeous tonight, Rorie.

He said, smiling. She raised a brow at him. Simple compliments wouldn’t get him very far right now. But secretly, him saying it in his stupid little accent was probably the most sexy thing she had heard directed at her in a while.

Rorie Steele: “7:30-ish means get here before 7:30. So you can wait for me to finish. Don’t ever make me wait for you again.

She seemed rather angry about it. She didn’t even wait for him at all. She made him wait. She was just being a bitch. His eyes locked on hers, and it took everything in him not to reach out and snap her pretty little neck. His eyes narrowed on her gorgeous blues..

Devin Hawk: “Sorry, hit every red light. No excuse, though. .. Are you ready? I have reservations at 8.

Rorie Steele: “Yes. I am ready.

She stepped out of her place, locking the door behind her. She walked ahead of him, her hips swaying with each step. She knew he was watching, and he was indeed. Biting his lower lip, watching those hips sway slowly with each step. She came up to the car, which is when he reached forward and opened the door for her. She looked over her shoulder, shooting a glare at him. He returned the glare with a sincere smile. Rolling her eyes, she exhaled a frustrated breath before slipping into the car. After she was inside, he pushed the door closed and circled to his side. After climbing in himself, he closed his own door and turned on the car. The radio came to life, which he quickly powered off. And he proceeded to drive to the restaurant.

----------------------

Later..

At the restaurant, the two have checked into the maitre d'. Reservation for Devin Thompson for two. They were escorted to their table, which is where Devin pulled out and held her chair for her. Another eye roll from the ice-queen. He did so with a smile, though. After she sat down, placing her purse on the table her eyes fixated to the single rose that lay upon the dinner plate that sat the place of the table. After he sat down, her eyes shifted up to him.

Rorie Steele: “Uh. What the hell is that?

Devin Hawk: “That? That’s a rose, Rorie. It’s for you.

Rorie Steele: “Why is there a rose on my plate? Am I meant to eat it, Devin?

Devin Hawk: “No. It’s for you. To keep. I called ahead and had it placed there for you.

Rorie scoffed at him.

Rorie Steele: “Oh… am I supposed to keep it until it fucking dies? Then what do I do with it, hm?

She glares at him. In reality, however, this was the first time in a long time someone had sincerely given her any kind of flowers. While she hated them, she still appreciated the gesture. But she wouldn’t ever tell him that. Keeping up appearances and all that shit. Devin watched her eye the rose, and then him.

Devin Hawk: “Well…” he reached out, picking the rose up from it’s resting place. “If and when this one dies? I’ll buy you another one.

He said as he rotated the rose with his fingers, spinning it from the stem. His eyes on the rose as it caught the light from the restaurant. She watched him do this too, he caught her. His eyes dropping to her’s with her still watching the rose. His lips crooked into a smirk..

Devin Hawk: “Sound good?

He stopped the rose, but it was the sound of his voice that snapped her back to reality so to speak. He smiled at her, placing the rose in the middle of the table before he picked up his menu and began to skim over it.This fucking suave motherfucker right here. Trying to break her walls. What a dick. She just stared at the rose that sat in the middle of the table. That was probably the sweetest thing someone had ever said to her. And she could tell he was being sincere. What the fuck.

Rorie Steele: “Uhh… fine. Whatever.

She kept her face in an angered position as she picked up her menu, hiding her face from his. Behind the menu, she mouthed ‘what the fuck’ to herself and shook her head for a moment. After that, she straightened her body, looking through the menu along with him. He felt and heard her movements for her own menu. After he assumed she had hers up, he lowered his...watching her.

Devin Hawk: “Hey...I have an idea.

He said to her. Behind her menu, she arched an eyebrow wondering what he was talking about. Slowly she lowered her menu, noticing his was closed and laying on the table in front of him.

Rorie Steele: “Yeah, me too. Pick something to order so we can finish this.

Devin Hawk: “Na’ that’s not it. What’ya say we skip this dinner and do something else?

Rorie Steele: “Then what was the point in making reservations and telling me we were going for dinner? I could have eaten at home, you know?

Devin didn’t answer, he had a habit of doing that at times. He pushed his chair back a little before standing up. He picked up the rose that lay on the table, before reaching out his hand to her. She watched him closely before rolling her eyes. She pushed her chair back and stood up on her own, grabbing her purse as she did. She didn’t place her hand in is, instead walked around the table and allowed him to lead the way this time which he did. He led them right out of the restaurant without so much as saying a word to the maitre d'. As the walk outside, Devin slipped his hands into his pockets and slowed down his pace, so that he walked beside her down the sidewalk. He had his head lowered, eyes on the sidewalk underneath his Doc Martin clad feet, but even with his eyes focused - he used his peripherals to see her cross her arms over her chest. He lifted his head to take the opportunity to remove his hands from his pockets, and slide his suit jacket off placing it around her shoulders. The only reason she hadn’t shrugged it off her shoulder was because she was actually rather cold. Maybe the slut-suit wasn’t the best idea tonight.

Rorie Steele: “This doesn’t mean I like you now or anything, by the way. Your gentlemanly ways aren’t impressing me.

She continued to walk beside him, letting out a huff as she did, annoyed about the stupid jacket on her shoulders. She turned her head towards him, slitting her eyes a bit at him.

Rorie Steele: “So where are we going, hm?

He smiled a coy little smile as she asked. Big, tough Rorie. SHE HATES BEING CALLED THAT. Pretending she didn’t want to be here.

Devin Hawk: “I thought we would take a walk down to the pier. I hear they have some christmas market carnival thing going on. I chose this restaurant after hearing about it. Originally planned to do it later, but...now’s a good time too, I think.

Rorie Steele: “We didn’t even eat at the restaurant. What are you going to do? Buy me a corn dog and some fries? Smooth…

She shook her head, looking at the different shops they passed.

Devin Hawk: “If that’s what you want, I can. If not, then we can grab food somewhere else. I just thought you might enjoy this more…

He said. His eyes were on her while he spoke, but afterward he turned them to the horizon. In the distance, now, you can see a rather large Christmas tree light up beautifully. Various strings of christmas lights decorated the area, and behind the tree, a ferris wheel slowly spinning ‘round. As they walked closer, the lights became brighter. There were people and children everywhere, watching the festive plays - shopping for specially designed ornaments and various other Christmas decor. Devin had never been to one of these, but thought...what the hell. Why not spend this time with her? He didn’t know how well that plan was going to work, but we’ll see...I guess. His hands were slid back into the pockets of his dress pants.

Rorie Steele: “That looks beautiful…

She said it without thinking. Normally she wouldn’t have said a thing, but she was taken by how gorgeous it looked out there. She snapped out of it after a moment, looking at him awkwardly and then away again.

Rorie Steele: “If you like that kind of stuff.

She wrapped the jacket tighter around her body. She was just being stubborn now. She didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of doing a good job. Yet. He heard the tone change in her voice, before she immediately snapped back into Rorie-mode. It brought a slight smile to his face. Not the fancy light show in front of him, not the statuesque Christmas Tree, and not all of the Christmas cheer radiating from this place. It was her. Her will beginning to break. Even though just moments prior he slid his hands into his pockets, he pulled his left hand out - the hand closest to her - and grabbed hers. He would then quicken his pace a little, pulling her just slightly to the ferris wheel. It had come to a stop and a few more people were climbing in. He pulled her to the line and before they knew it, they were sitting inside of the small car and the wheel began to turn.

Devin Hawk: “I’ve been in New Orleans only a couple of weeks. Never seen the full city at night.

He said, peering out into the city. Her eyes were on him, focused on his face as he stared off. She was intrigued by him right now. He was taking a lot of risks with some of his actions. Grabbing her hand, making her do things she didn’t want to. Touching her fucking hand! He was lucky she didn’t cut it off. But she said nothing. She let him do it. As she sat with him on the worlds worst ride, she found herself actually looking at him. Studying his face. She found that she was starting to not mind his company. What the fuck was wrong with her?!

Rorie Steele: “Neither have I. Except from a penthouse. But that… Nevermind…

She stopped her words. Maybe talking about other men wasn’t the best idea. Especially on a moving metal death wheel with a man that could easily snap her in half and throw her out of the ride. He heard her words, but he chose to ignore them. Devin knew how Rorie was, but didn’t care to know anymore about her extra-curricular activities. He wanted to know about her. He exhaled through his nose as he turned to face her. She quickly tore her eyes from him, not allowing him to know that she was focused on him.

Devin Hawk: “So...do you have family back in Canada where you’re from?

He begun the question round..

Rorie Steele: “No.

She answered it simply, saying nothing further from there. Devin just stared at her.

Devin Hawk: “Uhh…

Rorie rolled her eyes and leaned back in her seat.

Rorie Steele: “Ugh. Fine. No I don’t. My mom died when I was younger. My dad took care of me for a while and basically just fucked off when I was 15. I kind of lived on my own after that. Stayed with random family members…never for really long. I don’t talk to anyone anymore. My gran was the last person I kept in touch with. But she died 3 years ago. Happy?

She tilted her head to the side, watching him. During her answer, he shifted in the metal box that slowly swung in the night air as the wheel went higher, to face her. His eyes locked on hers the entire time. Once she finished, he didn’t hesitate to respond.

Devin Hawk: “Not particularly, no. But thanks for answering. Sorry to hear about that stuff..

She remained silent for a moment. He dropped his head a little, before continuing..

Devin Hawk: “...You know, I haven’t told anyone this before. Not even Gavin as he pried during training. But, I watched my father be murdered when I was a child. Sick fuck did it in front of a child. But it tore me up pretty well. So that’s why I keep myself locked in a gym kickboxing. It was an outlet when I was younger...and still is, honestly. And it’s always good to have someone else to train with, which is why I pester you about coming down. That and, legitimately, want to help you keep that title of your’s..

She blinked a few times as she looked at him. She was still silent, half waiting for him to tell her he was making some kind of joke or something. Her brows furrowed for a moment, internally debating her next response. She could be a bitch… or she could be sympathetic.

Rorie Steele: “Wow… I… had no idea. I’m really sorry…

She bit her lip gently, her head down. She swallowed hard and looked back at him.

Rorie Steele: “I honestly… don’t mind training with you. You know that, right?

Devin Hawk: “Well, maybe the first time you did. But I figured since you actually kept coming back there was a reason for that. Couldn’t have been me, so I assumed you liked the training.

He smiled a soft smile toward her. She watched him from where she sat across from him. She gracefully moved to the other side of the small car they were in, sitting beside him. She kept her eyes on him, his on her.

Rorie Steele: “This is really stupid, you know that?

She linked her arm into his, getting herself a bit closer. The higher they were, the colder it was. The closeness was mostly for warmth, but there was a small… extremely tiny extra reason for it; she actually was enjoying being with him.

Devin Hawk: “I don’t think it’s stupid at all. It’s nice to get to know someone that you spend so much time with. I mean. The way I look at it is...I train you almost every day, and then we see each other at the events. It’s nice to actually know someone I work with, other than the casual nod and wave.

He felt her curl up to him. He moved her arm from the link she’s made, and casually lifts it up. She, reluctantly, moved underneath it against him before he lowered it down and around her shoulders.

Devin Hawk: “Curious. What made you accept the offer I made the other day, of this date.

Rorie Steele: “NOT date?

Devin Hawk: “Whatever. It’s a date..

Rorie Steele: “It isn’t a date. But I accepted because I wanted someone to shop with me.

She paused for a moment, smirking.

Rorie Steele: “But I also wanted to see what you would come up with. I’m still a little frosty that you didn’t buy me a proper dinner… but this has been pretty alright, I guess. But you still have some work to do.

Devin Hawk: “How do you know this is all I have planned?...I can take you for dinner anytime, Rorie. It’s a nice night out tonight and I’m afraid with our hectic schedules that we wouldn’t have had the time to do this any other time.

He smiled a little, proud of his decision. Food was food, they can stop for that anytime...anywhere. This is a spur of the moment thing that he believed paid off very well.

Devin Hawk: “But this work that I have to do. What else can I do to make you see that I’m not such a bad guy afterall?

Rorie Steele: “You’re not a bad guy. It’s just I don’t like going on dates. I don’t like being in a relationship. I don’t like worrying about another person. Last time I worried about someone else, they left. I’m not… I’m done with that.

She kind of sat up straighter, not as much against him. She frowned slightly, angry with herself for letting him get her to open up. And angry that she wouldn’t let herself do it more. She clenched her teeth for a moment.

Rorie Steele: “I need you to do me a favour. I need you to make sure I have fun. Do you understand? Keep me preoccupied. That’s my advice. I would never tell anyone else that.. but I want to try. And that’s the only way I can do it. It is the only way I can truly enjoy my time with you.

He kept his eyes locked firmly on her after she moved from against him. As she was saying that, his arm fell from her shoulders. After she was done? His heart sank. He didn’t want her to feel this way. He stayed silent for a moment, causing her to lift her head up to look at him. He turned a little more to her, his eyes catching hers now…

Devin Hawk: “You don’t have to worry about any of that stuff anymore. I’m not like whoever did that to you, and unlike them...I’ll do whatever I can to keep you happy and preoccupied. You have my word.

He reached his hand up, caressing her cheek softly.

Devin Hawk: “All you have to do is let me..

She nodded, a small smile on her lips.

Rorie Steele: “Okay… so what else did you actually have planned?

She had a small amount of excitement in her voice. He said he could keep her happy… Let’s see if his plan actually would be up to her standards of ‘fun’. He slowly dropped his hand from her cheek to the side of her neck, the hint of a grin crooking his lips.

Devin Hawk: “Well...tonight, I planned on us to go back to my place. And then tomorrow I’ve purchased us plane tickets to...somewhere. A little trip away from things for a couple of days. We’ll be back in plenty of time so you can get some more training in for your match.

He removed his hand from her completely now. The wheel was just about done it’s full circle by this point in time. As their cart came to the bottom, the door opened up and Devin allowed Rorie to exit first before he did. After they were both out, he stopped next to her and looked down to her.

Devin Hawk: “How does that sound to you?

Rorie Steele: “Oh… so this is a multi-day not date? Interesting...

She smirked, walking away from the ferris wheel. When he stepped beside her, she linked her arm in his again. The two walked off into the night. Netflix and chill time. But the PG version of it. :)

THE END.
