(This is not my best work. But it's been a crappy and busy week. I tried to do this last night too, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Ah well! Best to get something up rather than nothing. )
Some people get extremely bent out of shape over a loss. They let it consume them. They let it eat at their core until they become a shell of who they were. All that's left inside is anger and unhappiness that takes over. They become jealous of the one who took away their glory and their rage towards that person ends up making them do unthinkable things. These types of people are the ones that tend to either get their revenge, or continue to fail and fall further into their pit of despair.
Then there are people like Psyche. The ones that take their loss and grow from it. They don't let it fester in their mind and eat away at them. They let it go and face their next opponent with new knowledge of what they should and should not do. Now don't get me wrong... Psyche isn't pleased with her loss. In fact, she'd love to just punch RJ in the face one last time just because. But other than that, she isn't going to dwell on it.
Psyche is standing on the Boardwalk, looking out into the distance. She watches the people walk away and towards her, just giving herself something to look at. She is taking a few moments to take in the view before she has to leave to go back to New Orleans. She starts to speak out loud.
Psyche: "This week I have a match against Harley Addams. I honestly don't know much about this girl, really. She seems as if she has a couple screws loose, but don’t we all in some way? No matter. This match will be a tough one, I’m sure. We’re main eventing. This won’t be like the Sting versus Jeff Hardy TNA match that lasts 30 seconds. This will be much more than that, I’m sure. And likely more entertaining.”
She’s now facing the camera. She holds up her hands, counting on her fingers.
Psyche: “One, we’re both females. And girls are fun to watch wrestle. Especially when they’re good. Nobody can deny that. Two, we’re both fierce competitors. Or I assume so with Harley. I haven’t had much chance to see one of her matches, but I’ve heard she’s pretty good. And three, I’m in the match. Simple as that. And I’m entertaining as all hell. I’m going to bring back that fun Psyche that everyone seems to enjoy. I’m going to have fun in this match. I’m going to enjoy this match. And all of the fans will enjoy it too.”
She smiled sweetly.
Psyche: “To Harley, I salute you. This will be an interesting match to say the least.”
She turns to look back out towards the water. She’s fixated on something in the distance.
Psyche: “And lastly… RJ… Congratulations on your win over me last week. That was some impressive work you did. But I’ll bet that I took you by surprise. A bit more to handle than you had initially thought. Next time... I won’t let myself mess up against you. Next time… You’ll stay pinned for the whole 1, 2, 3. I promise you that.”
She smirks to herself, still turned towards the railing. She turns her head back to the camera.
Psyche: “Harley… Don’t underestimate me like RJ did. He almost lost because of it. Bring you’re A-game. I want this to be the most entertaining match in the show… but I also want to prove that I can get the upper hand. And I plan to. I’ll see you soon, sweetheart. Can’t wait.”
She smiles sweetly again in a genuine way. She drops her hands off of the railing and turns on her heel, walking away into the larger crowd that had formed. |
